What is E-max?
E-max; It is a treatment technique called empress porcelain. The treatment is produced from a long-lasting ceramic applied to the front teeth. Discoloration in the front teeth, broken, cracked, yellowed teeth create a bad image. This situation disturbs the person. E-max veneer is the most aesthetic veneer method without damaging the tooth.
What kind of dental treatment is an E-max crown?
It can be used mostly for aesthetic purposes, in advanced colorings that cannot be achieved with methods such as bleaching. The biggest advantage of this dental work is that metal is not used. It is especially used for patients who are allergic to metal. In addition, e-max porcelain is recommended for visual purposes. An artificial appearance may occur due to the materials used in other methods. The structure of E-max porcelain is transparent and very natural. Compared to metal aided crowns, the surface of e-max crown is protected against stains and plaque formation. Cad-Cam digital dentistry methods are used for all of processing of e-max crowns. It requires delicate work. The dentist decides who is suitable for this method.
The advantages of E-max Crowns
It has high light transmittance and transparency feature, the image of natural teeth. The enamel of healthy teeth transmits light completely. Metals, which are the substructures of classical porcelain crowns, create an opaque appearance on the teeth. This causes the teeth to look dull and artificial. With E-max, this has been prevented. In addition, e-max crowns are applied to each tooth individually.
How much substance is lost in my teeth during the procedure?
Substance loss is not the same as metal aided porcelain and zirconium crowns. A filing of 1-2 mm is made from your normal tooth surface. Filing operations are performed with local anesthesia and then a temporary tooth-colored tooth is made to prevent hot and cold pain. A few of patients experience a slight ache and generally the process is completed without any trouble.
How long will these processes take?
It is completed in 5 days and 3 appointments in total. Dentist can add some more appointments if it’s necessary.

The patients use their zirconium crowns along 15-20 years if they keep using clear. At the end of this period, the e-max crowns are not broken but they need to be changed because of anatomic and gingival recession when the crowns need to be changed, the damage to the underlying teeth is repaired if it’s necessary and the crowns are renewed in accordance with the existing gingiva.
In this process, clinics change the crowns free of charge in case of problems in crowns.
